Joan Reid

Joan Reid is a licensed mental health counselor and certified rehabilitation counselor with eight years of professional experience providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults recovering from the effects of psychological trauma due to sexual assault or abuse.   Her recent research conducted in the Tampa Bay area, assessing treatment and services available to adolescent victims of sex trafficking, revealed the need for implementation of victim-centered judicial protocols for U.S. minors entrapped in prostitution.  Her research on issues related to victimization has appeared in Violence and Victims, Criminal Justice and Behavior, and Women & Criminal Justice.
